
AMINA Bank appoints Michael Benz to strengthens its Hong Kong presence as regional regulations mature and institutional adoption accelerates.
Switzerland-based crypto bank AMINA Bank AG has appointed Michael Benz as Head of AMINA Hong Kong and the wider APAC region.
Benz brings over 30 years of senior leadership experience, including roles as Global Head of Private Banking at Standard Chartered, CEO of Merrill Lynch Wealth Management Asia, and Head of Product & Services at UBS Wealth Management APAC.
The appointment follows AMINA’s record 2024 results, with revenue up 69% to $40.4 million, and comes as Hong Kong’s regulatory environment strengthens through initiatives such as the SFC’s ASPIRe roadmap, the HKMA’s stablecoin licensing framework effective 1 August, and the government’s Digital Asset Policy 2.0.
