The S&P 500 Index is going on-chain for the first time with direct licensing from S&P DJI, which bridges institutional data and DeFi.
Real-world asset (RWA) tokenisation platform Centrifuge will be collaborating with S&P Dow Jones Indices (S&P DJI) to bring the S&P 500 Index on-chain for the first time.
The collaboration marks the upcoming launch of both a first-of-its-kind proof-of-index infrastructure for tokenised index products and the debut of the first tokenised S&P 500 Index fund. Furthermore, the partnership also enables S&P DJI-licensed asset managers to launch programmable, compliant index-tracking funds using smart contracts and daily index files.

The first licence S&P DJI has granted will be a tokenised S&P 500 Index fund with Anemoy Capital licensed as the asset manager to build the Janus Henderson Anemoy S&P 500 Index Fund Segregated Portfolio.
