Chiliz hosts record-setting $150K hackathon at PSG’s stadium, spotlighting next-gen Web3 sports apps, fan data, and SportFi innovation.
Sports and entertainment-focused blockchain Chiliz concluded its largest hackathon, ‘Hacking Paris’, which was hosted at Paris Saint-Germain’s iconic Parc des Princes stadium.
With 236 developers from 16 countries in attendance, the event marked the first time a Web3 hackathon was held inside an elite sports stadium. The sold-out competition capped off Chiliz’s global developer initiative, following smaller hackathons in Brazil, Poland, and online.
Over 89 projects were submitted across tracks like Fan Token utility, DeFi, and fan monetisation platforms, with finalists judged by a panel of leaders from the Chiliz SportFi ecosystem.
Twelve winning teams will now enter an incubation phase supported by Chiliz mentors, building toward integration into its growing ecosystem of 150+ sports-focused projects and partners.
The three-day event doubled as a hub for Web3 and sports innovation, bringing together ex-PSG player Gregory van der Wiel, Chiliz CSO Max Rabinovitch, PSG Labs head Par Helgosson, and other leaders from the sports and blockchain worlds. Panel discussions covered fan data ownership, real-world token utility, and inclusive development programs.
Among the highlights was the launch of the second edition of the Includ3d Accelerator, led by READY founder Lucy Mills and FintSport’s Felipe Vera. Backed by football legend Juan Pablo Sorin, the initiative aims to democratise blockchain education and scale purpose-driven SportFi projects worldwide.
