Hitachi Vantara’s new two-way Virtual Storage Platform simplifies data protection and hybrid cloud operations while reducing costs by up to 40%.

Data storage infrastructure Hitachi Vantara announced the availability of its Virtual Storage Platform One Software-Defined Storage (VSP One SDS) on Google Cloud Marketplace, introducing a range of advanced hybrid cloud data management capabilities.

The move introduces two-way asynchronous replication, thin provisioning, and advanced compression. These features aim to boost disaster recovery, reduce storage costs, and simplify hybrid cloud deployments. The system now enables storage resources to be deployed via a single interface, without the need for re-architecting existing environments.

With hybrid cloud usage becoming the norm, organisations are seeking more consistency and control. These demands are further amplified by rising AI workloads, which place unprecedented pressure on infrastructure. Hitachi Vantara’s solution aims to bridge the visibility and management gap in these increasingly complex environments.

New functionalities such as thin provisioning and compression may reduce cloud storage costs by up to 40%. The two-way asynchronous replication feature enables both primary and secondary sites to act as source and target, offering enhanced business continuity through improved disaster recovery strategies.

“Bringing VSP One to Google Cloud Marketplace will help customers quickly deploy, manage and grow the data management solution on Google Cloud’s trusted, global infrastructure,” said Dai Vu, managing director, Marketplace & ISV GTM Programs at Google Cloud. “Hitachi Vantara can now securely scale and support customers on their digital transformation journeys.”

“Customers want the freedom to choose the right cloud for every workload and the assurance that their data will remain protected, available and easy to manage,” said Octavian Tanase, Chief Product Officer at Hitachi Vantara.

“With availability on Google Cloud Marketplace and the addition of two-way asynchronous replication, VSP One empowers our customers to easily streamline hybrid cloud operations while strengthening their resiliency posture.”

The announcement also expands opportunities for Hitachi Vantara’s partner ecosystem, enabling channel partners to support clients with a flexible, software-defined approach.

This release builds upon Hitachi Vantara’s broader innovation roadmap, including the recent launch of VSP 360, a unified data management software platform that enhances the user experience.
