Over 60 limited edition handcrafted plates will be donated to charity to raise SG$600,000 for awareness of mental health.
Local tableware brand Luzerne has unveiled the SG60 Diamond Collection, a limited-edition range of hand-painted ceramic plates and cups honouring Singapore’s 60 years of independence. Blending artistry with national pride, the collection highlights six decades of Singapore’s growth, captured through intricate porcelain designs by acclaimed local artist and Associate Professor Ng Woon Lam.
The centrepiece of the collection is the SG60 Diamond Plate. 60 of these commemorative plates will be produced and donated to charity, with Luzerne aiming to raise SG$600,000 for mental health causes. Ten of the plates will be auctioned in collaboration with Community Chest Singapore, with proceeds going to the President’s Challenge, Samaritans of Singapore, The Straits Times School Pocket Money Fund, and Limitless Singapore. Online donations will begin from $2,688, and the top ten donors will each receive a serialised plate encased in a custom gift box with a matching display stand.
“As co-founder of the PleaseStay. Movement, this cause is deeply personal,” said Luzerne CEO Elaine Lek. “Our goal is to break the stigma around mental health and offer tangible support to those quietly struggling.”
The full SG60 collection comprises several commemorative items that each tell part of Singapore’s story. The SG60 Singapura Plate features a 30cm design that captures one symbolic milestone for each decade of nationhood. The SG60 Singapura 6-Plate Set offers six 16cm plates, each with a unique design reflecting a different era in Singapore’s journey, and the SG60 Kopi Set includes six espresso cups and saucers packaged in a boxed set, also featuring six distinct designs that mirror the nation’s development over time.
All designs were conceptualised and painted by Professor Ng, whose signature style blends Chinese calligraphy strokes with the principles of Taiji, creating harmony and movement in each piece. His artistic interpretation lends the collection emotional depth and cultural authenticity.
With a legacy stretching back 75 years, Luzerne continues to champion Singaporean heritage while innovating sustainably. View the collection here.
