Plume deploys Nightfall to deliver compliant, privacy-focused RWA tokenisation, enhancing institutional blockchain adoption.
Plume, the first permissionless, full-stack blockchain purpose-built for real-world asset (RWA) finance, has announced the deployment of Nightfall, a public-domain blockchain technology designed to bring privacy-focused enterprise solutions to institutions. EY is assisting with the integration onto Plume.
Nightfall has been developed in the public domain since 2017 and now arrives on Plume as demand intensifies for secure and compliant privacy infrastructure in RWA tokenisation.
The latest iteration, Nightfall_4, uses zero-knowledge proof (ZKP) technology to enable private transfers of ERC20, ERC721, ERC1155, and ERC3525 tokens. Transactions are bundled using a ZK-ZK rollup, ensuring efficiency and scalability while maintaining privacy.
The protocol also supports decentralised permissioning and KYC-gating, features that are particularly important for enterprises and regulators. Combined with Plume’s sequencer-level AML policies, the integration ensures compliant, private transaction flows that can scale across institutional markets.
Paul Brody, EY Global Blockchain Leader, commented, “Plume’s leadership in the RWA space positions it well for the development and implementation of a privacy protocol. We look forward to working with institutions and developers to build out a full suite of regulatory-compliant privacy-enabled solutions.”
Teddy Pornprinya, CBO and Co-Founder of Plume, added, “The addition of Nightfall enables our institutional partners across the US, APAC, and the UAE to advance their tokenisation efforts, knowing privacy is built in. This further strengthens our mission to be the home for institutional RWA adoption.”
With Nightfall now live, Plume consolidates its position as a leading platform for institutions entering the blockchain ecosystem, providing both transparency and regulatory assurance for on-chain finance.
