Crypto.com customers in Singapore can now donate to the Salvation Army by paying in crypto, with plans to expand the service.
Crypto.com users can realise the gift of giving in crypto this Christmas with the announcement today that the Salvation Army has integrated Crypto.com Pay into the charity’s online payment portal.
With Crypto.com Pay, merchants and customers have a better, faster, and cheaper payment solution. Crypto.com Pay allows merchants to receive cryptocurrencies from a growing base of Crypto.com App users with zero transaction fees.
Customers in Singapore can now use the function to make donations in any of the 250 cryptocurrencies offered on Crypto.com, including Bitcoin (BTC), Ethereum (ETH), Solana (SOL), Cronos (CRO), and USD Coin (USDC). Salvation Army Singapore will receive these donations in SGD, enabling them to support their operations to support vulnerable groups over the holiday season.
“We’re heavily focussed on normalising paying in crypto and what better time to accelerate this than by partnering with the Salvation Army to help boost donations during the festive season,” said Chin Tah Ang, General Manager, Singapore, Crypto.com. “We strongly believe in the potential of blockchain technology to make a positive impact and hope to see that reflected in some generous donations to the Salvation Army over Christmas.”
The Salvation Army has been focussed on leveraging Web3 solutions to “do good” by investing in strategic partnerships, sustainable developments, and digital transformative initiatives. As the relationship progresses, the charity and Crypto.com will look to extend their collaborations beyond the Crypto.com Pay integration.
“Christmas is a hugely important time for donations to the Salvation Army, so being able to offer people more choice in how they donate is vital,” said Major David R. Erickson, Secretary for Business Administration, The Salvation Army. “We hope we will be able to inspire the crypto community, including the younger generation, to be extremely active and passionate about making a positive impact.”
Today’s announcement comes after Crypto.com signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Salvation Army to help facilitate the acceptance of donations in digital assets as well as other collaborative Web3, GenAI and blockchain projects.
