The SAP NOW AI Tour showcases AI adoption across SEA enterprises and unveils new training programmes for an AI-driven future.
SAP has unveiled new insights into how businesses across Southeast Asia are embracing artificial intelligence, with companies like Singapore Airlines and Yinson Holdings leading the shift. At its SAP NOW AI Tour in Singapore, SAP shared data from its regional customer base, revealing strong uptake of Business AI across operations—from automating expense claims to enhancing HR workflows with generative tools.
“AI isn’t confined to niche use cases anymore, it’s being embedded in some of the most fundamental parts of business,” said Liher Urbizu, President and Managing Director, SAP Southeast Asia. “Organisations across Southeast Asia are adopting AI, fast. And, by bringing together enterprise apps and mission critical data, they are realising tangible business benefits in terms of efficiency, growth, and revenue.”
A proof-of-concept using SAP Document AI helped automate the extraction of contract terms from PDFs, achieving 100% accuracy on less complex documents and over 70% for more complex ones. The pilot also demonstrated effectiveness with multilingual contracts, optimising previously manual and error-prone procurement processes.
Regional momentum extends beyond the enterprise. SAP and AWS have launched a joint AI Co-Innovation Program aimed at accelerating generative AI use cases in Southeast Asia. This includes embedding AI into ERP solutions and improving access through the AWS Marketplace.
“AWS and SAP’s long-standing collaboration is helping customers drive real-world business
transformation through AI across Southeast Asia,” said Kirsten Gilbertson, Partner
Organisation Leader, AWS ASEAN.
“By bringing together AWS cloud infrastructure, generative AI tools and services from Amazon Bedrock, with SAP Business Technology Platform (SAP BTP), we’re helping companies across Southeast Asia turn AI from a buzzword into a powerful engine for growth and competitive advantage.”
To support future talent needs, SAP announced an expansion of its SAP Skills University initiative. In collaboration with SkillsFuture Singapore and Temasek Polytechnic, the programme now includes 15 AI-focused courses to equip fresh graduates and mid-career professionals with practical skills in cloud, analytics, and emerging SAP technologies.
