The WTF Summit unites over 500 leaders from fintech, crypto, and compliance to address digital fraud, AI risk, and challenges across APAC.

Sumsub announced the launch of its inaugural What The Fraud (WTF) Summit, set to take place at Andaz Singapore from 19 to 20 November 2025.

The event will gather over 500 industry leaders and practitioners from fintech, crypto, technology, and regulatory sectors to build stronger defences against the region’s accelerating fraud epidemic.

The WTF Summit will serve as a dedicated platform for collaboration between regulators, industry leaders, and compliance experts, addressing key topics such as AI-driven scams, fraud prevention, regulatory change, and digital identity protection.

The initiative comes in response to Sumsub’s 2025 Global Fraud Index, which found that APAC has fallen to fourth place globally in fraud resilience, trailing behind Europe, the Middle East, and the Americas.

“Fraud is a global issue that demands collective defence,” said Andrew Sever, Co-founder and CEO of Sumsub. “Our latest Global Fraud Index shows why collaboration is critical, especially as APAC’s leading markets face widening gaps between innovation and protection. By launching the WTF Summit in Singapore, we’re calling the industry together to turn urgency into unified action and build resilient strategies for a safer, more trusted digital future for everyone.”

The WTF Summit will feature a high-impact lineup of speakers from leading institutions in finance, regulation, and technology. Confirmed speakers include T. Raja Kumar, former President, Financial Action Task Force (FATF); Lawrence Chan, Group CEO, NETS, and Dr Lawrence Wee, Director, Business and Ecosystems, IMDA.

Speakers will also represent AWS, London Stock Exchange Group, Coinbase, TRM Labs, Trust Bank, and other leading organisations. The two-day event will introduce hands-on training for the first day, with strategic industry dialogue for the second day.

The WTF Summit will also include extensive networking opportunities and a VIP afterparty for senior participants. By convening the world’s foremost fraud prevention experts in Singapore, Sumsub’s WTF Summit 2025 aims to accelerate APAC’s next chapter of digital trust.
