Decentralised finance (DeFi) platform 1inch has strengthened its security infrastructure by integrating zeroShadow’s Threat Intel Platform (TIPzs) to better identify illicit transactions before they are executed.
According to 1inch, TIPzs identified 194 attempted swaps across high-risk wallets, each involving assets of US$10 million or more, during testing between April and July. None of the flagged swap requests was allowed to proceed.
The integration builds on 1inch’s existing multi-layered screening infrastructure, which combines wallet screening and blockchain analytics from TRM Labs and Etherscan, transaction simulation and malicious token detection from Blockaid, and an internal blocklist informed by behavioural analysis and cybercrime intelligence.
Sergej Kunz, 1inch Co-Founder, said: “DeFi projects looking to work with traditional finance must implement strict measures to prevent illicit and sanctioned funds from entering the liquidity pool.”
TIPzs combines information from zeroShadow with verified signals from law enforcement agencies, and its intelligence feed is refreshed every two to 10 seconds. The screening process takes place entirely within 1inch’s local environment, keeping legitimate user activity private between 1inch and the threat intelligence platform.
Colin Graham, co-Founder and Head of Threat Intelligence at zeroShadow, said: “By integrating TIPzs alongside its existing screening stack, 1inch is ensuring that real-time interventions are precise, defensible, and focused on confirmed threats while keeping decentralised finance open for lawful participants.”
The integration is intended to strengthen 1inch’s ability to identify suspicious wallet activity and prevent potentially risky swaps from being executed, while retaining privacy for legitimate users.
