The Check Point 2026 Cloud Security Report reveals a growing gap between rapid enterprise AI adoption and real-time network enforcement.

According to Check Point Software’s 2026 Cloud Security Report: Enter the AI Era, there is a growing disconnect between rapid artificial intelligence adoption and enterprise security readiness.

The findings indicate a structural shift in cloud vulnerabilities, moving from general visibility challenges toward greater operational difficulties in governance, real-time enforcement, and the management of non-human identities.

This research addresses a major enforcement gap where 77% of surveyed organisations have updated their security strategies for artificial intelligence, yet only 26% possess the necessary architecture to enforce those policies.

To mitigate these security gaps, the data points to the deployment of a hybrid mesh network architecture alongside automated orchestration platforms to synchronise protections.

The corporate data also notes that 78% of organisations reported confirmed or suspected security incidents related to artificial intelligence utilities over the past year.

Paul Barbosa, Vice President of Cloud Security and SASE at Check Point Software Technologies, said: “AI adoption has outpaced the architecture built to govern it. Agents are acting inside live systems; data is moving through external AI services, and most enterprises still lack the visibility and enforcement to keep pace.”
