Coinbase is expanding its trading platform by bringing spot, derivatives, and advanced trading capabilities together as it moves towards its vision of an “Everything Exchange”.
The exchange has completed its integration of Deribit, connecting US and international crypto derivatives markets through a single liquidity pool. Coinbase will also roll out options trading, spot margin, and unified portfolios in the coming weeks.
Institutional clients will be able to access Deribit’s options and perpetual futures through Coinbase Prime alongside existing spot trading, custody, financing and staking services.
Coinbase is also introducing a new matching engine, streamlined onboarding, and updated fee tiers as part of the broader platform expansion. It also plans to bring back Coinbase Pro at the end of 2026 as a dedicated professional-grade platform.
The expansion represents Coinbase’s broader effort to bring different types of trading and financial products together under one regulated platform, while expanding the tools available to both institutional and sophisticated traders.
