EcoGuard and CONFED launched a digital carbon market platform on Hedera to support more than 3 million coconut farmers in the Philippines.
Swiss climate-tech company EcoGuard Global and the Confederation of Coconut Farmers Organizations (CONFED) of the Philippines have launched the CONFED Carbon Office, a digital carbon market platform built on Hedera that aims to support more than 3 million coconut farmers.
The platform provides digital infrastructure for carbon projects, including the registration, verification, and management of carbon projects. It also supports the issuance and transfer of carbon units through secure digital records.
EcoGuard and CONFED first announced plans to build the Philippines’ first digital Carbon Office on Hedera during the launch of EcoGuard Global at the World Economic Forum in Davos in January 2026.
Stefan Deiss, Co-Founder & CEO of The Hashgraph Group, said: “With this go-live, CONFED and the Philippines now have Hedera-powered carbon market infrastructure for issuance, tracking, trading, and retirement of high-integrity carbon credits under Article 6 of the Paris Agreement.”
The CONFED Carbon Office supports functions such as digital measurement, reporting, and verification (MRV). It also provides digital records across the carbon value chain, alongside tools for investor and buyer engagement.
The first major project to be onboarded onto the platform is the Samar COCAL Agroforestry Project on the Philippines’ third-largest island. EcoGuard has also made its first investment in the initial tranche of carbon credits expected to be generated by the project.
