Ink has upgraded to OP Enterprise Fully Managed to delegate its Layer-2 blockchain infrastructure operations to Optimism.

Layer-2 blockchain developer Ink has upgraded to OP Enterprise Fully Managed to delegate its network infrastructure operations. The arrangement establishes Ink as a strategic design partner to help shape the next generation of Optimism’s programmable financial ecosystem.

The transition allows Ink to separate application development from core chain operations, reflecting a broader structural shift toward institutional on-chain adoption. Delegating infrastructure operations to a managed provider enables institutional chains to operate with the reliability and support expected of traditional financial systems.

Operating a blockchain network in production presents distinct operational challenges and requires a specialised set of technical expertise. This upgrade directly addresses the difficulty of managing complex backend infrastructure, allowing the founding team to focus entirely on ecosystem growth and financial product innovation.

The multi-year partnership will see Optimism manage Ink’s production infrastructure while Ink contributes to roadmap developments like programmable block building and one-day Ethereum withdrawals.

The roadmap also includes sequencer-level compliance tooling alongside performance upgrades targeting network block times as low as 200 milliseconds by the end of 2026.

Jing Wang, CEO of Optimism: “Programmable financial infrastructure is becoming the foundation of how institutions build on-chain, but operating that infrastructure requires a different set of expertise.”
