The Malaysia Digital Economy Corporation and Ant International expand their partnership to accelerate MSME digitalisation through AI tools.

The Malaysia Digital Economy Corporation (MDEC) and Ant International have expanded their partnership through a new Memorandum of Understanding aimed at accelerating the digital transformation of micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) across Malaysia.

Under the agreement, Ant International will introduce EPOS, which is Antom’s all-in-one SME transformation platform, to equip local merchants with integrated tools for payments and AI-powered productivity. MDEC will engage MSME communities, industry groups, and ecosystem partners to support broad-based adoption.

Anuar Fariz Fadzil, CEO of MDEC, said: “Digitalisation has become a fundamental requirement for MSMEs to stay competitive. Our deepened collaboration with Ant International supports Malaysia’s AI Nation ambitions by ensuring even the smallest enterprises can access modern tools.”

Through EPOS, merchants can access unified digital tools and real-time insights to optimise operations, strengthen financial foundations, and improve customer engagement. Retail and F&B businesses, which face rising labour and cost pressures, are expected to benefit significantly as consumer activity shifts toward mobile-first interactions.

Ian Cheong, CEO of EPOS, said: “Malaysian MSMEs are ambitious and eager to grow, and they need accessible technology to compete. By making advanced tools available within minutes, we can ensure no MSME is left behind.”

MDEC will support outreach through workshops, training initiatives, and co-developed programmes that align with its national strategies.
