MetaComp highlighted the role of interoperability and AI agent governance during TOKEN2049.

At TOKEN2049 this year, payments company MetaComp highlighted the growing need to connect traditional financial systems with blockchain-based infrastructure, with a focus on stablecoin payments, tokenisation and AI-driven financial services.

At the Institutional Onchain Finance Summit 2026, MetaComp Co-President and Chief Operating Officer Eddie Hui discussed the role of stablecoins, highlighting that the asset can provide an additional settlement option for businesses and financial institutions.

At the Payments, Treasury and Tokenisation Summit 2026, MetaComp Co-President Tin Pei Ling joined a roundtable on agentic payments and programmable money. The discussion examined how stablecoins, tokenised deposits and other forms of digital money could connect with existing financial systems while meeting regulatory requirements.

AI-driven financial activity was another focus. As AI agents become more capable of initiating payments and executing transactions, financial institutions need ways to verify an agent’s identity, define its permissions, monitor its behaviour and establish accountability for its actions.

To address these requirements, MetaComp introduced its StableX Know Your Agent (KYA) Framework in April 2026. The framework covers agent identity, authorisation, monitoring and accountability, drawing on principles reflected in the Infocomm Media Development Authority’s Model AI Governance Framework for Agentic AI.

Together, these initiatives reflected the firm’s focus on connecting traditional payments, digital assets and automated financial activity while staying compliant.Stay updated on crypto and AI by following our socials
