Tether has launched the Financial Access and Systemic Empowerment (FASE) Foundation, a Swiss not-for-profit organisation focused on financial safety, financial inclusion and access to essential resources including energy and healthcare.
FASE brings together stakeholders from different key sectors to develop initiatives addressing financial harm and access to resources. Its work is organised around four pillars: financial safety, financial freedom and inclusion, access to resources, and responsible artificial intelligence (AI) and robotics.
These cover areas ranging from protection against digital asset scams and fraud to expanding financial services for underserved communities and improving access to clean energy.
The foundation will also work with Prosper Global on an initiative exploring how stablecoins could support more transparent and efficient humanitarian aid delivery.
In addition, FASE plans to build on Tether’s existing cooperation with the UNODC to expand cybercrime-prevention activities in Africa, Asia, and Central America.
FASE will also support civil society organisations that provide assistance and protection to survivors of human trafficking.
Paolo Ardoino, CEO of Tether, said: “FASE is about reaching them. It builds on work Tether is already doing in these communities and brings in partners from across the industry and the United Nations to take it further and faster.”
