THBT Phase 2 embeds Fireblocks’ wallet technology into the TrueMoney app, enabling supported digital assets to be swapped for THBT.

TrueMoney has partnered with digital asset infrastructure provider Fireblocks on the second phase of its Thai Baht TrueMoney (THBT) initiative, bringing on-chain wallets to the TrueMoney app.

The THBT initiative seeks to explore programmable payments on a blockchain under the Bank of Thailand’s Enhanced Regulatory Sandbox. Through the collaboration, Fireblocks’ embedded wallet technology will be integrated into the TrueMoney app, allowing users to create and manage wallets without having to handle private keys directly.

The second phase of the initiative focuses on expanding THBT’s use in everyday transactions. Participants can use the asset to purchase digital coupons through THBTStore or swap it for supported digital assets.

Tourists and expatriates can also swap digital assets for THBT, which can then be used to purchase digital coupons or withdrawn as Thai baht for transactions across TrueMoney’s ecosystem.

Mr. Apinand Dabpetch, Managing Director of Ascend Bit and Group Head of Wallet & Growth, TrueMoney, said: “Through this collaboration, we are delivering a seamless THBT experience on the TrueMoney app, powered by Fireblocks’ institutional-grade digital asset wallet infrastructure. This enables us to make digital assets more accessible without compromising on security, giving both Thai and international users greater confidence to experience the real-world benefits of digital assets and programmable payments.”

Mr. Ran Goldi, SVP Payments and Network, Fireblocks, added: “By leveraging Fireblocks, TrueMoney provides its users with enterprise-grade money movement without ever touching a seed phrase or worrying about losing a private key — the complexity is handled, and all people see is a payment that clears instantly.”
