The collaboration between UBS and Ant International aims to deliver real-time, multi-currency settlement for global operations.

UBS has partnered with Ant International to explore blockchain-powered innovations in tokenised deposits, real-time cross-border payments, and global liquidity management. The agreement was formalised on 17 November 2025 at UBS’s Singapore office, where both parties signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU).

Under the partnership, Ant International will leverage UBS Digital Cash, the bank’s blockchain-based payment platform piloted in 2024, to support its global treasury operations. The solution enables more efficient, transparent, and secure settlement across jurisdictions, while allowing UBS to apply the same capabilities to strengthen payment solutions for its own clients.

Both organisations will also explore joint development of tokenised deposit solutions through a connected architecture incorporating Ant International’s proprietary Whale platform, which is the company’s next-generation blockchain-powered treasury system.

The integrated framework is designed to facilitate real-time, multi-currency fund flows between Ant International entities, removing traditional cut-off constraints and improving global liquidity management.

Young Jin Yee, Co-Head UBS Global Wealth Management Asia Pacific and Country Head Singapore, said: “This collaboration with Ant International builds on the momentum of our UBS Digital Cash pilot launch last year. By combining our expertise in digital assets with Ant’s advanced blockchain technology, we are working together to deliver a real-time, multi-currency payment solution that sets standards for transparency and efficiency.”

Kelvin Li, General Manager of Platform Tech at Ant International, said: “We are pleased to partner with UBS, a leading global bank with a proven track record in blockchain innovation. We share a common belief in the potential of these technologies to transform cross-border payments and look forward to driving greater impact together.”
