AI solution, OLIN, is generating 40% revenue growth for Indonesian F&B businesses, highlighting AI’s transformative impact on the industry.

Restaurant management solutions company, PT Esensi Solusi Buana (ESB), previously launched its proprietary AI-driven solution, OLIN, which has boosted the revenue of the Indonesian food and beverage (F&B) sector by up to 40%.

In the recent report released by AC Ventures and the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry titled “Harnessing the Power of (Gen)AI in Indonesian Financial Services.”, it singled out ESB Restaurant Technology in utilising GenAI to enhance financial inclusion and economic empowerment for Indonesian F&B businesses.

The company began integrating traditional AI solutions into its products before the GenAI boom in late 2022, but the user experience was not intuitive. With the advent of ChatGPT and the GenAI wave, ESB developed OLIN, an in-app assistant to enhance the experience.

OLIN, represented as an on-screen female colleague, allowed F&B enterprises to obtain actionable insights by asking simple questions, eliminating the need for manual data analysis. The company highlighted that the use of OLIN has led to significant revenue increases for F&B merchants, and they are developing new credit scoring models to facilitate access to bank loans and working capital for micro-businesses as well.

Gunawan Woen, Co-founder and CEO of ESB Restaurant Technology, said, “Our SaaS offerings form the core of our business, but our future revenue streams are set to expand with AI as a central driver. Our supply chain and procurement system has been successful since launch, and our end-customer ordering system simplifies transactions while providing valuable data on customer behavior.”
